scratchbuilding an Elbing Class Torpedoboat
Re: scratchbuilding an Elbing Class Torpedoboat
hello all,
have been doing some more detailling on my boat.
finally finished detailling the 20mm flakstand.
made some mannholes and detailled them , these mannholes were located aft off the boat.
Started on a 10,5cm shellhoist ,which was located in the hut aft. I had no information on the shellhoist so I had to improvise.
the base off the hoist.
the shell holder
the shellhoist in the hut.
bought some aluminum 10,5 cm shells by New Connection Models.
the previous steps but with 10,5 cm shells.
started on the base off the bridge.
2 moer mannholes , the were located between 1st and 2nd , and 2nd and 3th superstructure. I still have to detail them.
enjoy

hello all,
have been working on the bridge. I roughly cut out the contours off the bridge , I haven't detailled it yet , nothing has been glued.
the walls.
bridge deck , the figure gives some dimension to it.
bridge on bridge deck.
from another angle.
I put a piece off wood into the tube , so you can see how high the main mast will be. I start detailling tomorrow.

Re: scratchbuilding an Elbing Class Torpedoboat
Hi Ludwig , re your " Unidentified Compartments near washrooms in forward superstructure " ;-
Sperrlast -- looks like a compound noun which might mean something like something like "rail-hoist" ( ? )
Lederz -- looks like Leder = leather , with the "Z" being a contraction of a compound noun . ( zaal = room )
German wet weather outer clothing gear was grey leather .
Could this be a wet clothing locker/oilskins locker/drying room ? It is in the logical place for it .
Hope this is some help .
I'd just like to add -- What a beautiful model you are making there , and your subject , the " Elbing " Class Torpedoboot , one of the prettiest warships ever I think , along with the Italian " Capitani Romani " class , graceful poems in steel . And those complex lines of the stern too . Lovely .
Thanks very much for sharing this with us , please do keep posting as progress continues .
( If you fancy doing a 1:1 Scale one afterwards , I've got a MIG welding machine ! )
