New Trumpeter 1/700 Hood May 1941

Just though I'd post here that Trumpeter's new 1/700 Hood 1941 kit is now available (waterline and full hull options). I just got mine.

It includes much of the detail missing from the Tamiya kit, although my only problem with it is that its depiction of the horizontal seams in Hood's funnels (absent in the Tamiya kit) is exaggerated and they'll need to be sanded down. Frank Allen, who was one of the consultants in the model's design has confirmed this.

Also, there'll be a 1931 version of the kit - replete with Hood's quarterdeck catapult and crane - coming out by April of next year.
