I saw this about a month ago and my feelings were mixed about it. I thought it well detailed and liked it for the most part. But cardstock has it's limitations. You can see the limitations in the domed rangefinders. They aren't round and detract greatly from an otherwise superb model. Why go to all that trouble just to have those flaws simply because you don't want to use something besides cardstock to make the rounded surfaces. I just don't understand I guess, since I don't work in paper mediums. Mostly I work in styrene, but I am not afraid to use aluminum, resin, brass, or whatever else makes a better model. Ships aren't made out of a single material and models shouldn't be constrained to a single material either. That's my two cents and like all opinions, it's only worth two cents (or less). I am not the one who did it, the man who built it is better able to judge his work than I.

Paper-modelling is an art form in Germany and some other parts of Europe.... even at the 1:1250 scale there are fanatic paper modellers. Others use matches or toothpicks. I agree with you that to build a real scale model you need to use all kinds of materials to get it perfectly right.
