Bismarck model by Survivor Walter Weintz

Post by Ulrich Rudofsky »

I hope "Morog" does not mind that I translated his wonderful posting of 1:100 Bismarck model exhibit by Survivor Walter Weintz at Schlachtschiff.com:

Translation by Ulrich Rudofsky: “Today I had the opportunity to meet a former crew member. Walter Weintz has at this time a small exhibition in his hometown. It consists of documents and photos that are in his private collection. Also his model (1:100) was there. It was interesting to have a conversation with Walter. He talked a lot about things that probably cannot be found in any of the books. About the normal daily routine, starts of shifts, etc.. If all goes well I may meet with him privately and see the rest of his collection. I will go there in the coming week. It is only 10 minutes from here. I will post the pictures I took today, but it will take a while longer”. (end of "Morog's" posting at http://www.schlachschiff.com)
