Post by gesalinas » Mon Jul 25, 2005 1:12 am

I need some help to all gentleman in this forum. I have an image at

Image

This is from book: Vom Original zum modell: Deutschland class. It's the hull of Deutschland, that it's not the same that Spee.
I have a lot of questions in this picture. The Graf Spee was 1 meter more greater in beam than Deutschland.
I want to know also if somebody knows where I can get a good plans or drawings of Graf Spee well researched to make a model or if there is a mainframe from original builders.

Thank you in advance,
Gonzalo Salinas.

There are many plans available for the Graf Spee. Here are two at scale 1:100 and 1:200:
http://www.vth.de/shop/shopfiles/shoppa ... =19&go.y=7

Words:
Panzerschiff M = Armored cruiser scale
Länge = length over all
Briete = beam
Tiefgang = draft
Gewicht = weight
Antrieb = propulsion
Linienriss = line drawing
Spantenriss = frame sections
Hauptschnitte= main cross-sections
Schichtbauweise = layered construction
Wichtige Detaile sind gezeichnet = important details are drawn......et cetera......

Zweischrauber = twin screws
Deckspläne = deck layouts
7 Blatt = 7 sheets

Although the Kaiserliche, then Reichsmarine, then Kriegsmarine Werft in Wilhelmshaven was destroyed after the war, there apparently are plans still in circulation. The 1936 plan may not be exactly "as built", but I would contact some of the correspondents on the Deutschland Class forum who are discussing matters pertaining to Graf Spee plans: http://www.bismarck-class.dk/forum/view ... ec283b4baf

If you wish contact these people in forum bismarck-class, let me say thank you in advance.
Only the mainframe original drawing builder of Spee it`s enough to make the rest of hull. Or if somebody can answer the questions of picture post here.
Sorry for my english, it´s difficult to me.
