Hilfskreuzer models

Post by RF »

Has anybody tried building models of any of the hilfskreuzer?

According to Sellwood in his co-authored book on Atlantis, Rogge had a model of his ship commissioned which he kept at his home in the 1950's.

Atlantis model

Post by Antonio Bonomi »

Ciao Rf and all,

according to what I know :

1) Atlantis beautiful model as well as many B. Rogge personal stuffs are on P. Tamm private home-museum in Hamburg.

2) Aurora long time ago had an Atlantis model on their offerings, but than it went out of production. A very rare model to buy, very expensive.

3) There is surely a 1 / 700 water line model too

Ciao Antonio :D

Neptun makes all the Hilfskreuzer (Orion, Atlantis, Thor, Stier, Komet, Kormoran, and Michel) in the 1:1250 scale. The models are much nicer than the catalog photos resemble. There is a great space advantage in using this scale.

Scheuer & Strüver has a 1:250 card model kit that can be detailed with photoetch and camouflage.
