Portrait with Signature of Chief of Fleet /Günther Lütjens

Post by Reinhard-Germany »

Flottenchef Günther Lütjens. Lütjens had the command over the "Bismarck" and "Prinz Eugen" at the sea battle 1941. Went down with the Bismarck 1941.

Before I list this item at ebay, I want to testify that the Signature is written from Günther Lütjens and he has signed himself.

Would I be wrong if I stated that the photo could be dated from the period between September 1934 to September 1935, while Günther Lütjens had the command of the light cruiser Karlsruhe? The uniform seems to be the one of a Kapitän sur Zee...

Btw, can I place a bid already now?

Ciao Terje and all,

you should be surely right, .. as the photo itself says it is a '' Kpt zur See '' if you read it under the '' Lutjens '' signature.

Nice photo ...I hope you will get it my friend  .

No biddings are now possible... It will take one or some weeks to find an expert who can testify the Originality of the signature.

I guess that it is an original item but I want to be sure.

I will also list at ebay some scarce Kriegsmarine manuals ... in two or three weeks.

Now I listed the Chief of Fleet Admiral Lütjens at ebay Germany.

You can find this auction with the title
"GÜNTHER LÜTJENS Schlachtschiff BISMARCK/HMS Hood/Schiff"

or

http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie ... :IT&ih=002

or under my ebay-name:
Beute_vom_Trueffelschwein

An autograph-dealer told me that this original photo with original signature of Günther Lütjens is worth 400 Euro.
And there are really only very few original photos of Lütjens, and more fewer with original signature!

Going off this thread somewhat, I had suggested some time ago on another thread that it might be interesting if a sample of Lutjens handwriting were to be analysed by a graphologist, and a signature such as this could be such an opportunity.
