Hey, guys. I´ll have to do what you tell me because if I don´t I´ll never get those books. I found a way to do it paying directly to an office that bought everything Amazon or the such. Thanks to you all...
Now... books + models means a lot of trouble at home... but ít´s worth... :D

As far as I know both books, Freidman and Worth´s books are some of the best in their respective approaches. What about Koop and Schmulke about Bismarck Class?

Best regards...

Well,

On Monday I ordered the following used books:

Friedman´s "Battleship Design and Development"
Raven and Roberts "British Battleships"
Koop and Schmolke "Battleships of Bismarck Class"
Richard Worth´s "Fleets of WWII"
and
Garzke and Dulin´s "Axis and Neutral Battleships"

The cost was huge but I believe it´s worth. Any recomendation for further reading?

Best regards....

A lot depends on what you are interested in. For the Pacific I've heard very good things about the First Team series.
Beyond Pearl looks like it may be quite intersting. A number of discussions of it over at combined fleet. See http://www.j-aircraft.org/smf/index.php?topic=6037.0
If you like first person accounts with lots of personal details Last Stand of the Tin Can Sailors might be worth getting.
Black Shoe Admiral has also got some very good reviews.
I'm pretty sure The INVENTION THAT CHANGED THE WORLD was the most recent work I read on radar history and if so it was quite good although it concentrates on the British and US side of the story. See the reviews at: http://www.amazon.com/INVENTION-THAT-CH ... 825&sr=1-4

If you are interested in WWII aviation I've heard very good things about Black Cross Red Star. See: http://www.bergstrombooks.elknet.pl/bc-rs/
I'll point out that I did have some significant debates with the author on other topics of on the jagdmoroner board.

Just looking I saw a number of other books I really want to read. I'm working on Wages of Destruction right now. Lots of good information and interesting veiw point but not something that you have a hard time putting down.

I just recevied the first three books:

1. Raven and Robert British Battleships
2. G & D Axis and Neutral Battleships
3. Koop and Schmoltke Battleships of the Bismarck Class

Still waiting for Tiornu´s Fleets and Friedman´s BB Design.

Best regards.

I got British Battleships from R&R for 12.46 Euro at Amazon.de (new) last week...

Funny how they rate the British 15in guns as the best battleship gun... :D

Their comparisons at the end are very selective and flawed, trying to always put the British on top, I hope the rest is not in the same category.

That's an amazing price. Amazon.de has two copies listed now, at 184 Euro.

Well I meant the German version: http://www.amazon.de/Die-britischen-Sch ... 194&sr=8-1

Maybe you meant an English one.

For anyone who can read German, you can still get it for 12,68 Euro there.

That's very interesting. I see that it is a 2002 edition. I wonder if it has been revised from the 1982 English Language edition?
