PoW & Repulse

Post by paul.mercer »

Gentlemen,
Further to my question on the wreck of Barham, what is known about the condition of PoW and Repulse?

There was an expedition to POW not all that long ago with fairly extensive video footage I believe. I'm not sure if they spent much time on or even found Repulse. Google will probably find more info for you.

Paul,

There is a great deal of info on both PoW and Repulse - videos even.

Both have been explored in great detail and the exact mechanism of PoW's demise has been determined including the location of all torpedo hits. Repulse has not been as easy as some of her damage lies buried.

PoW info here: http://www.pacificwrecks.com/ships/hms/ ... wales.html
At the bottom of the page are links to Kevin Denlay et al's detailed analysis including a document on both wrecks.

For more on Repulse: http://www.bobhenneman.info/repulsewreck.htm
