Composition of Kurita's Force, 9 December 1941

Gentlemen,

in the evening of 9th December 1941, Japanese light forces under the command of RADM Ozawa and Kurita tried to engage Force Z but could not find the British ships in the dark (although they were at 20 nm from them at 1920). Ozawa's Force had Chokai and Sagiri while Kurita's had Sentai 7 (Suzuya, Kumano, Mogami, Mikuma). Kurita was joined by Kinu at 1907 and by DesDiv 19 (Uranami, Shikinami, Ayanami, Isonami) at an unknown hour. Do you know when did DesDiv 19 met Kurita ?

Best regards,

Entering a night sea battle is an awesome business. The enveloping darkness, hiding the enemy's.. seems a living thing, malignant and oppressive.Swishing water at the bow and stern mark an inexorable advance toward an unknown destiny.
