Where is the Lister Channel?

From the Washington Naval Treaty to the end of the Second World War.

Where is the Lister Channel?

Post by José M. Rico »

Maybe someone can help me.
On 13 November 1939 in the Lister Channel, the old minesweeper M132 of the 1916 type, was damaged and sunk accidentally by a depth charge dropped by the minesweeper in front of her. Does anybody know where the Lister Channel is?

I believe Lister Channel refers to Lister Ley which lies opposite side of the Schleswig-Holstein from Flensburg at about latitude 54.97 N longitude 8.47 E and derives its name from the nearby
town of List.

Their shoulders held the sky suspended;
They stood and Earth's foundations stay;
What God abandoned these defended;
And saved the sum of things for pay.
