Post by Karl Heidenreich »

Just seen 007 last movie. Being a Bond fan myself i would like to know if you have seen it and what do you make of it?

I haven't seen the movie and to be honest I'm not the Bond fan I used to be.

With the passage of time since the earlier movies were made - and some of them are now clocking on for nearly half a century - the plots look far less credible now than they did some years ago.
Dr. No infact remains my favourite, but Goldfinger now looks increasingly preposterous, especially the raid on Fort Knox.

Karl

I went to see this a couple of weeks ago with the other half and enjoyed it.

The only thing is in my eyes it wasnt a Bond film as such!

No "Q" and his funky gadgets or cheesy one liners, felt more like any spy film but you must admit Craig does come over as extremely hard.

It may be down to the idea of them trying to show the characters journey and fight with his inner self to become what we would reconise as Bond.

Im not a film critic but thst my 2p worth.

This is what tends to happen and the films are ''modernised'' - and of course at some stage they will be injected with political correctness.

You never know, we could even end up with a Cuban version of James Bond - with George W as the villian......

It was actually closer to the feel of the original bond films and the books than those in which Moore starred. I'm not sure if it was Moore's fault or the directors but I never cared for those films.
