Tirpitz November 12th, 1944

Post by Antonio Bonomi »

Ciao all,

today is November 12th, 1944, the day Tirpitz was sunk by the Tallboys launched by the British Lancaster ' Dambusters ' in Tromso.

I have the honor to have received the 'pin' of Tirpitz kameradschaft last year directly from the hands of the ship survivors when we opened the museum dedicated to this wonderful ship in KaaFjord on the presence of British survivors from X-Crafts, many German Tirpitz survivors and Norwegians too.

I think it is due on this day to remember all the young guys ( all flags ) that died fighting for this ship.

Too young to die, .. too many, .. we all shall remember,.. never again.

Rest in peace soldiers.

Ciao Antonio

I think it is good to remember these events.

May all Tirpitz sailors rest in peace.

A short prayer for them.
