100 million dollars project for a mosque and comunity center two blocks away where ARABS killed 3000 persons in the name of ISLAM. And what the great patriotic president of the US does? Support the project instead of the families of the victims. Is like reward with a medal for good conduct to a murderer in front of the families of those murdered by him.

Even, let´s say this clown is right and this is a TRY to get along with islamic people. Will they allow to build a catholic catedral beside MECA? Will they, all the millions of muslims, change the way they view those that not share their abominable beliefs? Wishfull thinking!

The main problem came from the days of 9-11 and George Bush. After the 9-11 attacks Bush took a position in which he declared that the enemy were some independent groups of islamic fanatics and NOT nations (which they were clearly are as then Afganistan, Pakistan, Iran, Iraq, Arabia, Siria, Libia, etc.), not goverments (which they were clearly are) but only some groups of people. It seems that Bush missed the open public celebrations and rejoice of hundreds of thousands or millions after the Twin Tower attacks in the streets and mosques at Cairo, Damascus, Islamabad, Teheran or Meca. Obviously this Bush policy, heavily influenced by the weak Collin Powell criteria, was aimed to avoid a global high intensity conflict that the US would have won in a single stroke. Instead Bush, as did Johnson and McNamara decades before, choosed the "easy" way and think the US (or by that fact any western country) could win a potracted low intensity confllict. The Vietnam War experience was not enough for Bush to learn from.

The problem is that the enemies are not "just" a few groups: is a culture, a religion and, mainly also, ethnical groups. All of them are enemies of progress and the free society that the West proclaims. The enemy are nations as Arabia, Iran, Siria, Libia and "ally" Pakistan. Is not about talibans, is not about Al Quaeda. The West can destroy them completely, which neither Bush nor Obama had achieved, ans some new groups and threats will rise. Why? Because those are not independent groups. No. They are NATIONS and GOVERMENTS behind.

Now, Obama. Obama, if not an muslim himself, supports islam. He supports islam in the proportionaly way he undermines white christian valors, he undermines the central states of the US, he undermines middle hard working class in order to give food stamps for the bums and gangster at Harlem, East L.A., Chicago and Detroit suburbs, to help the ilegal aliens to get into the country to speed up the descend of white people into a numerical minority and claim the US land for those that dispise it for what it stood for so long.

No more F 22 Raptor, that money is needed at Harlem and Chicago suburbs, no more nuclear weapons because they stood in the way of rogue states to threaten the US mainland, no more Anti Missilie Shield and no more ICBM in many SSBNs. This is Jimmy Carter's ideal world, that of transforming the US in a bayou like state where Edgar Allan Poe is forbidden and only Uncle Tom's Cabin can be read, where History could be re written as per political correctness demands.. Where the daughters of the US middle class people must be worth next to nothing and target to tribal rape, sexual mutilation and discrimination... Where the Dixie flag is forbidden and the daughters of American people have to use the sharia and Christian churches are transformed in Mosques. A US so weak that Rusia and China (you know that a re make of the movie "Red Dawn" was scrapped a few weeks ago, even when it was completely filmed already?) will rise as the superpowers and Europe is humiliated as she deserves because their neglect of doing the right thing and protect western culture. At least the Crusaders in their time have guts.

Obama's mosque is the clear, in front of you eyes, proof of the future Obama wants for America. Bush was bad... no, he was terrible (mainly because he open the path for this demagogue to come to office), but he was still an American. Obama is not: he is a foreign, socialist, pro islamic, populist want-to-be tyrant. And an islamic, black governed US is what he wants to achieve: the mosque is just part of his plan.

Karl I don't really know how you turned one comment from President Obama supporting the effort to possibly build that Islamic center into the fact that is his mosque, and thats he is drilling support up from Democrats across the nation for its construction.

Remember the Constituational Right to the Freedom of Religion is one of our most cherised rights in the United States. Personally I think it is poor taste to build the Islamic Center near ground zero, but I would rather see it built than let people infringe on anyones freedom of religion. I commend the people who want to build the center in hopes that it will allow for non-Muslims to have a better understanding of their faith. From what I have heard and read the center has a lot support from the local Jewish community, which that speaks for itself.

Also your rant about Obama cancelling the F-22 Program is misquided since it was Donald Rumsfeld and later Robert Gates under President Bush who pushed for the cancellation of the program at 187 aircraft. The death nail for the program came under the Obama adminstration with Gates telling President Obama the same reason he told President Bush. The ending of the F-22 program was long in the works before Obama was even being nominated for president. Look it into it, all the information is there.

About the F 22, it`s only evidence of Bush´s incompetence and Obama unwillingness to change the other guy`s bad decision.

About the mosque, again, let´s see if the Meca´s Iman would approve the construction of the catholic catedral or lutheran church two blocks away from his sacred place, let´s see if they stop killing by throwing stones adulter women or mutilating them, let`s see them acting in a civilized way... Then they can build whatever mosque wherever they want.

Some of these ''3000 persons'' were of course Muslim, so in that context there is some mitigating factor.

But really the victims of this atrocity - all of them - should be considered before the interests of political correctness.

I hope that this weekend's Glen Beck and Sarah Palin's intervention at MLK day at Washington rally will be the start to kick out of office the pro islamic and socialistic agents that took on power at Washington. America is at a crossroad and perhaps there is still a chance to save that great nation... and by doing that others in other countries will do the same. But now, Islam and not Red China or Russia at Caucasus, is the main threat... and it is not JUST a group, it's their whole culture.

I speak for myself but from my point of view the nation is really PO'ed. Unemployment really is over 15% or higher, 401k's in the toilet, Wall Street gets bailed out, the dem's ram through Obama care and the middle class get screwed! I knew back in 2008 that the community organizer was a phony and there would be big time buyers remorse. Time has proved me right. Conservatives are fired up for the fall, independents are bailing on barry and the only thing the libs can run on is religious tolerance. What a laugh! The republicans stand to get back one if not both houses of Congress if the don't blow it. The people will vote for them because they are not dems but if they drop the ball then 2012 is going to be a free-for-all! If barry gives illegals amnesty via executive order I fear the nation will move towards confrontation.

I have NO CONFIDENCE in his boss and because his boss is such a political chameleon I fear he will do something rash to prop up his P*** Poor approval ratings. I lived through the Carter years and I thought I would never be as ashamed to be an American as I was then, but I was wrong. Beware of boldness in a timid man! I truly fear for my country. With respect, I presume that it was your son's free choice to join the US Navy, as I believe the US doesn't have military conscription. I would have thought that disagreement with the foreign/defence policy of your government might be an argument for not signing up to conflicts you don't agree with? Or does he see things differently from you?

I might add that President Carter wasn't a complete wimp as he did authorise the rescue attempt on the Tehran embassy hostages. It wasn't Carters' personal fault that two helicopters collided, causing the service chiefs to recommend aborting the operation, which Carter followed and then took full personal responsibility as commander in chief. When push comes to shove, would Reagan have done any better if the hostages had not been released during his inauguration?

To answer your first post, my son like everyone else is a volunteer. He signed up because he wanted to serve his country, to be part of something bigger than himself, for the training and experience and because my father, whom my son was very close with was in the navy. My dad was a FC2 for Fire Control Main on the USS MISSOURI. His battle station was in the Plot for the 16" guns. As a member of the commissioning crew he was a "Plank Owner", directed fire at Iwo Jima and Okinawa and the bombardments of the steel mills on the Japanese mainland and was a witness to the surrender in Tokyo Bay 65 years ago today. Dad passed away in 2002 and son said by his joining the navy he has felt closer to him since his passing. My son is a better man than me! I am very proud of my son as anyone who has a family member serving in the armed forces is! I have no respect or confidence in his boss and I worry as any father would that this current occupant of the White House will do something that would either put him in peril or restrict his ability to protect himself all for the wrong reasons. That is my concern!

Regarding you second post, I also remember the failed rescue mission. I also remember that Carter weakened the military to pay for his social programs and when the time came to respond to aggression we had the disaster at Desert One! I remember the navy ships that could not sail because they did not have enough crew to man them or planes that could not fly because they had no spare parts. In my opinion, Carter was and still is a jerk, who put the interests of other nations ahead of those of the US, much like the current occupant of the White House. I was ashamed that my country voted for such a zero then just as I am that it voted for this zero! I remember Carter, I see obama. I saw this movie already, I know how it ends!
