British 4.5"/45 (11.4 cm) vs American 5"/38 (12.7 cm) Mark 12
I've read that the 5" was an effective aa weapon especially with vt fuses and a large burster but what about the British 4.5"?

I've been trying to find out how much explosive were actually in HE shells used in 4"/45 (10.2 cm) QF Mark XVI, 4.7"/45 (12 cm) QF Mark XII and the 4.5"/45 (11.4 cm) QF Mk4. I have been reading the handbook of ammunition 1945 and it states that S.A.P have around 4% of total weight but...
