I have been following the Battle of the Denmark Strait since May 1941 when I was a 16-year old high school student in the New York area. As word of the battle became known, I switched back and forth from the BBC and Radio Berlin on our Sears Silvertone short-wave radio to obtain the latest accounts...

Bob, I think this is a unique offer that you should not refuse, and I applaud Antonio for that. I suggest you do as he says and take all this off-line.

The poem makes for a nice souvenir of the war, but I don't believe that it has any place being posted on this forum where we honor our former foes, such as the Baron and other Bismarck survivors, as honorable men who only did their duty faithfully even though it was in support of an evil regime. I ...

I have no idea what song it is, but yes, it is Rammstein. That part of the documentary seems to have been taken from Leni Riefenstahl's infamous propaganda film "Triumph of the Will" about the 1934 nazi rallies at Nürnberg.

I finally had the opportunity to browse through "Historia y Estela del Crucero Canarias" by Jose Barcelo-Fortuny at my local bookstore. It is probably the best single volume published about this cruiser. A very good book overall, it includes full history, origins, construction, civil war e...

George: I asked you about the results obtained from those Tirpitz plate tests because I was wondering what values made you think the results were poor. Perhaps you expected those plates to offer greater resistance to 14" shells and that made you think the tests were not properly carried out? Wh...
