Hello everyone! I’m new here but I’m a collector of naval photographs and enjoy finding and discovering ships. I’ve recently picked these two pictures from a seller and would like help identifying it. At first glance by the camo and general shape I was thinking the German Luderitz but I’m not an expert. Any thoughts?

Have you posted over at axishistory.com?
Re: Please help identify this ship
No I’ve never been there before. To be honest I’ve never been on a WWII forum of any type

Hello Mr. Quantumny,
IMHO photos do not relate to same ship. Structures/fittings/camo are not similar.
However, I'm no expert of German support ships and cannot help further.

Agreed. One is a freighter, the other ... isn't.

Hi Quantumny,
I'm certainly also not an expert on this either, but I would assume the following:
Photo 1 https://imgbb.com/0Xy0QQB
German freighter during II. WW.
This is a quiet scene, probably a port in a back-area,
Possibly: Italy, France, Germany, Denmark. . .
Based on the uniform, probably taken between 1940 and 1942

The German S-Boat that can be seen in front of the actual ship is a clear indication
of an S-Boat tender. I would say, the "Adolf Lüderitz" or its sister ship "Carl Perters".
