German boilers

Post by tallguy »

The last 3-4 classes of German WW1 BBs/BCs had a combo of coal and oil fired boilers. Several sources seem to show that the oil fired boilers were more powerful but I cant find out how much. Anyone have info? Also, I am trying to find their relative sizes. Ideally, dimensions would be really helpful. Thanks in advance.

Hello to All,

Some of you may know the German forum marine archive.

Since I am currently dealing with some of the technical background to this topic, here are two threads with detailed explanations
of the background of the oil-coal firing ratio and its specific requirements, as well as advantages and disadvantages.
