No....Pacific Front is the Freetime Hobbies website that sells ship kits.

The box art for this new 1/200 kit looks to be depicting Bismarck as she was during the DS battle with the Baltic stripes painted out. But to nit pik - the fall of shot is wrong. None of PoW's salvoes ever landed astern - all were in line, either short, over or straddling with a few shells from the last 2 cetrally controlled salvoes falling ahead (thereby possible sending that splinter into the Prinz Eugen.

But at 1/200, this kit will be over 4 feet long and, with today's technology, the detail should be amazing - plus all the after-market upgrade sets that are already underway - one being put out by Trumpeter itself. It will take a stout heart and a DEEP pocket to take on this one! Do I hear KARL saying AYE!!??

The comments are starting to come in on the ship modelling sites regarding errors. When you get to this scale, the finest details become important and they seem to be finding some that those who insist on absolute accuracy will have to correct.

I got this kit this past Saturday and is it a monster. The detail looks good. Some things that I noticed right off of the bat that are missing are the loops at the bow that hold the anchors in place. I also noticed that there is no photo etch handrail for the rangefinders that have no dome. I'll be more than happy to give out more details when i get a chance to start this kit.

Dear all,
Just registered as a member.
I too ordered the Trumpeter 1:200 Bismarck ; and the huge box arrived last Friday.
As you know, one of the 'extras' is the detailed Main Gun.
I'd be very grateful if someone can advise on the color schemes one should use to paint the interior as acciate as possible.
Thanks very much in anticipation for any assistance/advise.

I must be quite away's behind you now!
Can anyone tell me if there is a final decision on what paints & colours to use?

Found the White Ensign Models site & looks good but would appreciate some other opinions/input...

Also, see the superstructure (Hellgrau 50) is a differant colour to the hull (Dunkelgrau 51),are the ancillary items like the cranes, vents etc. the same as superstructure.

Hi,

Not sure where you are located, but you may or may not be aware that WEM is now unable to ship their paints overseas - the airlines won't carry them any more because they are enamels. This is a recent development and it has really hurt us modelers who've come to depend on WEM for their accurate and previously easy to get colourcoats. They are being urged to start an acrylic line to get by the shipping ban. Who knows how long that will take...

On no! Those aren't my photos! Certainly not! My Bismarck is an ordinary out-of-the-box built Trumpy 1/700 waterline, painted as she was on 24 May 1941 in her moment of triumph - but no comparison....
